Victory for Independent Contractors COVID-19 Relief

In a victory for Independent Contractors seeking relief due to COVID-19, our legal team at Kanthaka Group helped our client obtain a waiver of all overpaid benefits from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and approval of the appeal. 

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment overpaid our client for benefits that arose from the  Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC). When the department realized the mistake, it sought repayment for several thousands of dollars that had already been spent under the program. 

The Department agreed to waive the overpayment of employment benefits, allowing the client to effectively keep all monies paid out under the program.
